Will Rogers male 40-59 warm baritone low Ab - F The star of the Ziegfeld Follies, strong, charismatic performer with the ability to entertain the audience with a natural and calming charm; knowledge or willing to learn to spin a rope; ability to play guitar is ideal. Must deliver many long monologues.
Betty Blake female 30-49 alto Low F - Eb Will's wife, engaging warm actress with the ability to sing many musical styles from romantic ballads to belted torch songs, strong performer.
Ziegfeld's Favorite female 20-39 belter low G - mid Bb A show girl, knack for comedy, long-legged and statuesque.
Clem Rogers male 60-79 character baritone B - E Wil's sharp and witty father, mature actor, also doubles as Will's butler and ranch pianist, does not actually have to play the piano; gruff and stern, also able to give fatherly advice.

Audition Guidelines & General Information

Auditionees, you have won our hearts and minds just by reading this audition form! So don't be nervous or hesitant to come join us. We welcome you to come on down and have some fun with us. We cannot wait to see your amazing talents!!

The audition will include:

  1. Singing— 16 - 32 bars of a contemporary Broadway song which best shows your vocal range and dramatics, with the option for the music director to ask for more of the song if needed. You will be asked to stop at 32 bars!
    • PLEASE bring sheet music in your key with cuts marked. An accompanist will be provided.
    • NO impromptu vocal, acapella, or recorded accompaniment PLEASE!
  2. Dancing— you will be shown a short routine and asked to perform.
  3. Auditionees will be notified of casting results by email after the close of auditions on October 18th. Note: some actors may be cast without being called back.

N O T E S

  • Roles open to all races & ethnicities
  • No roles are pre-cast.
  • Auditions will close promptly at times stated.
  • All actors to play age appropriate
  • No AEA (Actors Equity Association)— no actor stipend or subsidy.
  • Headshot: Bring a headshot if you have one. Don't worry if you don't, we'll take an audition photo on audition day.
  • Rehearsals: Generally, rehearsals are Monday through Thursday evenings 7pm - 10pm, and Sundays 6 pm - 9 pm. Some Saturday rehearsals may also be scheduled. Not everyone will be called to attend all rehearsals. After casting, the specific rehearsal dates for each actor (role) will be established.
  • Conflicts: You will have an opportunity at auditions to indicate your conflicts so please bring your personal calendar for the show rehearsal and production window.
