WVLO Musical Theatre Company is pleased to announce that Broadway Musicals are back!

THE ADDAMS FAMILY

Opening our season of premiere shows, this is a new, award-winning musical comedy based on characters created by Charles Addams in his popular comic strip and TV series about a weird and wonderful family and their eccentric encounters with the citizens of a normal society. The 2010 Broadway production starred Nathan Lane as Gomez and Brooke Shields as Morticia. The musical score includes “One Normal Night”, “What If?”, “Waiting”, “Just Around The Corner”, “Not Today”, “Crazier Than You” and “Let’s Not Talk About Anything But Love”.

SOMETHING ROTTEN!

Continuing our season is a South Bay Premiere of a new, award-winning musical about two brothers who set out to write the world’s first musical in this hilarious mash-up of sixteenth-century Shakespeare and twenty-first century Broadway. Something Rotten! opened on Broadway in 2015 presenting 742 performances, then went on a national tour in 2017 and toured Asia in 2019. The score includes “Welcome To The Renaissance”, “God, I Hate Shakespeare”, “I Love The Way”, “A Musical”, “We See The Light” and the title song.

LEGALLY BLONDE

Completing our season is a South Bay Premiere, a fun and upbeat musical based on the novel “Legally Blonde” by Amanda Browne and the 2001 film of the same name. It tells the story of Elle Woods, a sorority girl who enrolls at Harvard Law School to win back her ex-boyfriend, Warner, and discovers how her knowledge of law can help others. The musical premiered in pre-Broadway tryouts in San Francisco in 2007 before moving to Broadway. It received 7 Tony nominations and 10 Drama Desk nominations. It has since toured throughout the USA, London, and other countries. The score includes “Omigod You Guys”, “What You Want”, “Positive”, “Delta Nu Nu Nu”, “Find My Way” and the title song.
