Director's Note for Once Upon a Mattress
Picture of Bill Starr, Director

Have you ever been in love and have everyone you know tell you to forget it? Did you follow your heart or listen to them? Well, let us take you back to medieval times when young Prince Dauntless is looking for a bride. No one can wed until he gets married. He is so discouraged interviewing all the Ladies-In-Waiting in the kingdom until Princess Winnifred (Fred) swam the moat to be interviewed. Although the Queen does everything to squash the Prince’s interest in Winnifred— does she succeed? Will Winnifred marry the Prince?

This show is based on the fanciful story of “Princess & The Pea”. The cast will be throughout the show in this magical and musical assortment of numbers to sing, act and dance too. There are many roles open to you so don’t be shy! Join our cast to help tell this story and have fun at the same time.

Looking forward to seeing you at the auditions.

Cheers, Bill Starr, Director
