Director's Note for 42nd Street
Picture of Bill Starr, Director

42nd Street is a show about having dreams come true. It also shows that in the event of tragedy that hope can win out— and never give up because there is a solution to every problem. It's a salute to Broadway and the White Way and showing what it takes to put on a show, the rehearsals, tryouts, jitters on opening night, but most of all it presents the dedication and commitment everyone must make when choosing this path to travel. You cannot give it half your attention because it must be 100% if you want to make it happen. Show Business is like the ocean— a wave can lift you up high or the tide can pull you under. It depends on how strong you are and your desire to survive. There's no business like show business— truer words were never spoken.

Bill Starr, director
