WVLO presents a
Sensory Friendly Event of A Chorus Line

March 17, 2017

It's okay to walk around and make noise!

On March 17, 2017, West Valley Light Opera (WVLO) presents this sensory friendly event to help make theatre accessible to families and caregivers affected by autism spectrum and sensory disorders. WVLO proudly provides a special night of A Chorus Line in a friendly and supportive environment. Attendance is free to all and donations are gratefully accepted. No tickets or prior arrangements are required to attend this event— just come on March 17 at 8pm and soak up this special theater experience.

Parents please note:

This is an unabridged run of A Chorus Line, which includes some mature language and subjects.

Adjustments made for this event include:

  1. Provide a downloadable social story to facilitate orientation to the theater experience before the event. Click here to view and download.
  2. Turn up house lights
  3. Turn down sounds.
  4. Provide calming place in the lobby (cushions, crayons, fidgets)
  5. Accept walking around the theatre and lobby during the event.
  6. Accept noise (flaps, screeches, squeals, talking) during the event.
  7. Provide extra ushers (e.g., guard orchestra instruments, crowd control)
